I was really glad I had the opportunity to work together with a friend of mine at an event in Kuantan, Pahang. She owns an event management company and was one of the parties involved in ensuring the successful launch and 'Open Day' activities of a new Volkswagen showroom.

Here are a few of the images captured at the event - Volkswagen Kuantan's Open Day on 7 & 8 January 2012.

Love Came Down

Thursday, December 22, 2011

It's easy to get lost in the commercialism and merry-making of the Christmas season, and yet miss out on the true meaning of Christmas. At the very heart of Christmas, is Jesus Christ. Simply put, Christmas to me is all about 'God with skin-on!' :)

God Himself came down to live among us...So He can identify with us...He knows how we feel coz He felt it too...He understands us in every way, coz He experienced humanity, as one of us. He is not a god who is far away nor a force somewhere out there to be reckon with.

He's Emmanuel, God with us.

On the first Christmas, LOVE came down...for you and I.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I discovered the art of Chad Stamatelaky, an artist who uses an 'upside-down' way to paint his art pieces. Be patient and watch the video below to discover what I mean. If you're quite an impatient fella, no worries. Just fast-forward to the 5:30 mark and you'll understand. ;)

The photo below which illustrates the side-perspective of the representation of Jesus' face, was taken by my nephew at his church's Christmas dinner. Chad was an invited guest there and conducted a wonderful youth camp for the young people.

Thank you Chad for reminding us (well, actually me) what Christmas is really all about.

Blessed Christmas and a wonderful New Year to y'all!

A World Without VISUALS

Thursday, December 1, 2011

Lately I've been imagining how this world would be like without VISUALS.
Has this thought ever crossed your mind? Think about it for a moment with me...
A world dominated by mere words but without visuals would be a world without...

- Beauty
- Paintings
- Movies
- Various forms of the Arts
- Performing Arts
- Musical Performances
Photography (OH NOOOOOOOOOO!!!)
Television
- Videos (no Youtube videos!)
- Advertisements (that could be a great relief actually...no chance of being bombarded with ads!)
- Designs (this could very well mean no iPod, no iPad, no iPhone..and all things design-related!! We're left with mere ideas that are confined to wordy and maybe lengthy interpretations. But without any form of visual designs as a reference point to build or create the actual thing. This could mean the end of innovation!)
- Memories (when we recall or think about something in our mind, most times it appears in visual form...E.g. When I say "Ice-cream!"...Immediately the visual/picture of 'ice-cream' pops into your mind, right? And not the word with all the letters that spell "I-c-e-C-r-e-a-m!" See??? We think in visual/picture form.)

Today, I'm utterly grateful for the existence of visuals in life. I'd like to think of WORDS and VISUALS as the two wings of a bird...Both are necessary. Inter-dependent on each other. One can't fly high without either of its wing. Likewise, often times, both words and visuals work well together to provide meanings in this world.

However, I'm bias towards VISUALS, mostly...Coz it helps me experience and savour beauty and meaning in this world like no mere words can.

Who knows, tomorrow I may lean more into WORDS instead.
But as for time being, VISUALS it'll be!

Here's to a (VISUALLY) happy weekend to y'all! Whatever that may mean for you...

Hunger Pangs

Thursday, November 24, 2011

I've been down with a terrible bout of food poisoning these past few days...Feeling better today. But still not up to writing or doing much work on the computer.

While I was (trying) to do some work on my computer, I was glad I stumbled upon image after image of beautiful food photography by a New York based photographer named Penny De Los Santos. Check out her portfolio work HERE.

I really like the rustic feel of her food photography. When my eyes caught hold of her amazing food photos, I could feel the hunger pangs returning...That's a sure sign I will be back on my feet soon...hopefully!

SUCCESS = Shining Eyes

Thursday, November 17, 2011

Benjamin Zander shared a very simple yet powerful definition of what SUCCESS means to him...And I can't help but absolutely adore his choice of words. Success is Shining Eyes!

You've got to watch almost to the end of the video to find out why... ;)

May y'all have your own Shining-Eyes-like days ahead!!
